Ecobee Heat Pump Thermostat Installation in Johnson City, TN

Received a call from an existing customer in Johnson City, TN asking us to install an Ecobee Smart Thermostat on his heat pump that he had purchased online. We scheduled a time to come over to his home to perform the thermostat replacement. We had the customer download the Ecobee app on his phone so that we would have access to the programming instructions. The customer had a 2 heat/1 cool single stage heat pump. We also verified compatibility online to confirm that the thermostat he purchased would work for his particular system.

Once we arrived at our scheduled appointment time we verified that his system was working as part of our thermostat replacement process. Once we verified the system was working, we shut off the power to the indoor and outdoor units. We documented the wire terminations of his old thermostat and verified that his reversing valve was an energize in heat mode model. We removed his old Honeywell 5000 thermostat and began the thermostat replacement. Once the new Ecobee thermostat was physically installed, we programmed the thermostat, hooked it up to Wi-Fi, and synced the thermostat to the app on his phone. We restored power to the indoor and outdoor units. We tested the new Ecobee Smart Thermostat to confirm proper operation, cycled the unit, and left the thermostat set at the customer's desired set point.
